It is traditional in the fire service dating back to the late 1700s to formally dedicate and wish goodwill to new fire and rescue apparatus. This dedication is known as a Housing Ceremony. On Saturday October 21 2006 we will be housing our new 2006 Pierce Lance Heavy Duty Rescue Truck. This grand event will start at 400 PM at our firehouse with an Open House to follow. It is our pleasure to invite the entire community and fellow firefighters to attend this ceremony. If you live in the area of the firehouse we are asking that all cars parked on Pennsylvania Ave. between Downing and Stuart Avenues be removed by 200 PM on October 21 2006 until after the ceremony. We will be closing this section of Pennsylvania Ave. at that time. After the ceremony and open house on Saturday the street will reopen and you will be able to return your cars to their parking spaces. Please help us celebrate this event by displaying all of your American Flags that you can find. And if you still have your yellow Alert Fire Company 100th Anniversary banner from 1987 please display that as well. We will also have several dignitaries and guest speakers at the ceremony. Lets make our neighborhood look festive. We thank you for your support in the past and your continued support in the future. We hope that you will be able to join us for this grand event.
